  Trust is the key
I've been reflecting on a key difference between my business documentaries and those we are making for broadcast.

With a paying business client it's relatively simple; I expect good access and openness and our objective is to deliver a final-cut the client is 100% happy with.

With broadcast projects, my client is the broadcaster or indeed the viewer, so there is a more complicated relationship with the characters I am filming. Yet my values and fundamental approach are the same. We are there to observe and faithfully record; making their personalities, successes and dreams jump off the screen. Mutual trust is again the key.

  Working with talent

More and more our business work requires on-screen talent or voice-overs. Therefore I was delighted to be invited to talk to the local Equity branch. From the feedback, it proved to be a useful session for the actors. As I put together my slides, I was reminded how I started in the film business working for British actor Martin Benson who ran a small corporate film business in Radlett.

  Why it's a privilege to be a film-maker

As a documentary film-maker it's a privilege to enter into the lives of others. Today we immersed ourselves in the world of the NHS, Intensive Care Units and the hard work it takes to progress your career as a nurse. Inspiring contributors, inspiring stories and inspiring passion.
